Magnifying the Lord as a charism is every woman's call, because it is the essence of our receptivity, generosity, sensitivity, and maternity. We seek to maintain receptivity to the Will of God through growth in our interior life, while at the same time giving witness to those around us of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Yet it is a unique vocation, particular to each woman. We each have our own gifts and way of being; our own feminine genius. Magnifying the Lord is the lens through which we all look at how we are deepening our love of God and our love of others. Do we bow in adoration of the Triune God? Are we humble in recognition of our gifts and talents that the Lord invites us to use for His glory? Do we live virtuously amidst a culture of death and isolationism? How do we bear a feminine light to our family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors? How are we cultivating our femininity? Please note, we are not promoting a specific view of femininity, but rather we mean the pillars of the feminine genius as written about by those before us, St John Paul II, St Edith Stein, Dr Alice von Hildebrand, among others. We do not support ‘femininism’ in the secular sense. Magnify does not support or promote the ‘idea’ of female priests, nor do we support an archaic type of false-meekness found within some ideologies. We believe men and women are complementary, we believe that women are dignified and worthy of various roles in society.

Though we are all individuals, we are united in striving for holiness for the glory of God and the good of humanity. This is the sisterhood that extends beyond our individual groups or parish involvements. It is our joint apostolate in the world. What is an apostolate? It is evangelizing, basically. It is spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ — that we have access to God’s infinite mercy, if only we are open to receive it through humility and love. That begets action. Living to be a saint begins with receiving and then gives ‘birth’ to Christ’s light in others.

This apostolate began as simply “Magnify 90” but has now expanded under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The first Magnify retreat was offered in March of 2022, a one day retreat in 2023, and another full weekend scheduled for 2024. The next step, Magnifying the Lord: living to be a saint, with imprimatur, was released in early 2023. Annual novenas have been written for the benefit of all the faithful. Another book is anticipated, and speaking engagements around the country have been unitive for the apostolate. The small group communities that have formed around “Magnify” have transformed the lives of not only the women involved, but all those in their sphere of influence. Magnify is not bound up only in the 90 spiritual journey any longer and we look forward to continuing to grow with you all!
